Introduction to Bread Baking Course with Maria
— January 07, 2012
For Christmas Dan, my boyfriend, and I usually book a course instead of getting each other Christmas presents. This year we decided to go for a bread baking course which we’d heard about through Monacle 24:The Entrepreneurs - Bake with Maria. As neither one of us has baked much bread in the passed we chose the ‘Introduction to Bread Baking’ session where you learn how to master four varieties, white loaf, foccacia, wholemeal soda bread and plain buns. It turned out to be a brilliant choice as we had a great time, learned loads and we got to take an amazing goodie bag full of our own freshly baked breads with us when we left. Maria, who leads all the classes herself, is lovely and really dedicated to helping you understand the basics of baking and she inspires you to go home and experiment with the recipes in your own kitchen. From now on I’m determined to always keep a living bread culture in the fridge at all times so I can make a fresh loaf every Saturday morning. No more tasteless shop bought bread full of preservatives and chemicals from now on. What a perfect new years resolution! Find a recipe for a rustic white loaf with nuts and olive on the right.
